The apartment was quite modern, good size and well-furnished. It had all essentials, including a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. Especially, we liked the bathroom, which was quite luxury, with a nice spa bath and a beauty set. The bedrooms were good size and cosy with comfy beds. The staff were kind and welcoming, and the location was OK. We were offered a room upgrade for the same price as they had a larger free apartment, so we ended up having 3 rooms with 1 double bed and 3 single beds for just the two of us. It was the biggest apartment we got in NZ at a very attractive price.

My husband and I arrived quite late (hours after checkout) and the hotel desk staff had assured us that the room would be ready for us. As expected, there were no hiccups or hassles and we were in our room. The hotel staff were gracious towards us and offered to be available should we wish to contact them after we arrived and if we encountered any issues. Would definitely always stay at Parklands if I am ever in Timaru. The rooms were clean with all available amenities and it was a perfect stopover for myself and my husband

This complex was extremely clean with great kitchen and bathroom facilities, although both were a little outdated, but it doesn't impact the functionality in any way. Spa bath, great sized bathroom and kitchen with good sized fridge made a big difference to our stay. The bed was very comfortable and a great size. Dining table and 2 large comfy chairs to relax in after a day of sightseeing was very much appreciated. The room had everything we needed for a short stay and had very good wifi connection.

We were upgraded to a 1 bedroom room, which was nicely decorated, new curtains and carpet and a large spacious bathroom. Adequate kitchenette with an oven/cooker but no dishwasher. Comfortable bed and the bed linen was of a very good quality - not thin, like in some places we have stayed in NZ. It's right on the SH1 road heading south to Dunedin. All in all. we thought it was brilliant value at roughly £80 for a night

It was exceptional for the price we paid and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff service was excellent being prompt with requests in a lovely manner. It had been well updated and the spa bath was lovely. Adequate parking and in a position in the town to access the bay and township easily. We checked out Centennial Park, the penguins and had a nice meal at the Bay Hill Bar. Glad we did.
